Porcelain
Like throwing cream, porcelain is my favourite clay to work with on the wheel. The Audrey Blackman body, fired to 1260C in my electric kiln, gives me a wonderful canvas for my favourite glazes, textures and mark-making. Slip additions, textures and faceting occur shortly after throwing – thin lines are incised just before the leather-hard stage. Larger sculptural pieces are planned.
